Grandma
Tears,
Wiped away by
Gentle, old hands
Problems,
Solved by the wisest of us all
Fears,
Overcome by the one who knew us best
Second chances,
Given to us when we didn’t deserve them
Shelter,
Given to us by the apartment we came to love
During those hot summer months
Food,
Given to us by the best cook of all
Love,
Given to us by the provider of our lives
The one who always listened
Always stood at the door with open arms…
Willing to take anything the day brought on
She was all of that and much more…
She was strong
She was brave
She was ready to fight…
But even the toughest of us have to move on…
Move on into a place with no
Pain,
Restlessness,
And feeling sad
She is the one who taught us everything
She set good examples
She showed us the impossible is possible
She proved to us
Now we must prove to her
That we can keep her in our heads and hearts
And be strong…
For Grandma…
