One may say a poem is but a steady string of words on a line.
But a POEM…
Spells out “hope” in a fair dream
A POEM…
Composes songs without a staff,
And not by note doth sings.
But a POEM…
Is its own freebird.
It is independent, tho’ it
Flies in the way of the Creator’s mind,
Above rustling treetops
And beyond the desert stars.
