My Poem to You
Bright lights reflect on the ever glistening water
While the hot white sand burns beneath my feet
The sound of the seagulls welcomes me back to you
I have missed myself as much as I have missed you
I have felt lost since you have left
I have had my ups and downs since I have seen you last
You decided to leave me when I was young
Never thinking what you were leaving behind
Forgetting about the beach rides during the summer
Or the trip to Hawaii that we took together before you went away
You forgot about the happy moments in your life
But instead you remembered the horrible ones
Those are the ones that you decided would make you leave
But you did not realize what the future would have in tail for you
You could have seen me grow up and fall in love
You could have seen the world with me
And most of all you could have felt the love that would come from me
But you didn’t see those things, you only saw darkness
But I hope now you have seen the light and are at peace
I love you and may you now and forever lay in peace
*Dedicated to my very missed Aunt Terry*
