Untitled
Moving uncomfortably in my own skin,
isolated in a world filled with sin.
I lie in a mere drop of the ocean,
between the waves of thought and emotion.
Displayed before you is my structure,
A smile that may brighten yet soon puncture.
Swift and careful with every movement,
Yet flaws remain with room for improvement.
Open my heart and experience change,
a journey to certainty from derange.
My ability to spread my wings is at stake,
it depends on the chrystalis from which I break.
The brightness of the sky welcomes me back,
confidence that now seeps in my skin was what I lacked.
From behind, my wings shroud me in an embrace,
at my sides a spectrum of colors move apace.
I found myself and not another
a butterfly like me, you'll find no other.
