Coffee Shop Dreams, Empty Cup Nightmares
There they sat sipping coffee
Watching time tick by
Watching their problems fly out of their mouths
As the rain runs down the cold glass door
There they sat sipping coffee
Speaking of what huge dreams they have
Broadway, Big Screen, Voice Actor
Then they watched and listened to their dreams
Pierce the sky and crash into the ground around them
Their dreams poisoned by that cruel drug known as reality
Falling to the Earth like the ever dropping rain
There they sat sipping coffee
Alone, yet not
They know how lucky they are
They know how many people love them, yet they feel alone
Even as the three sat together, a family in its own right
The loneliness persisted
There they say sipping coffee
Attempting to narrow down those who cared
Counting down friends on their hands
Wondering if maybe they didn't have it so bad
Wondering if maybe they had all they needed
Then they stood
Returning those crashed dreams back into the sky
Draining out the poison from its veins
Walking out of that shop into that cleansing rain
Smiles on their faces
It was there where they laughed.
