Correlation
No frown has ever been so harsh on my eyes,
Until this evening, where off in the distance,
Sun cast his upturned expression in our window.
He’d been betrayed by Sky,
The woman who’d long claimed his golden beams,
And his closest brother, Moon,
A man he trusted to cycle the Earth by his side.
Infidelity set on every sidewalk in the neighborhood,
Sun cries to Sky for her undying love—
“Promise you’ll stay with me, be here for all of time,”
His words rang against the under lit stars.
Sky, holding him in the still of the night, replied,
“I am here as long as you’ll take me.”
Sun asked if she could possibly love his brother,
“Not in a million cycles with the Moon.”—
No more inquiries from Sun—
Sky held him under her dark affliction,
Whisked the man in her arms to rest,
And prayed he’d come up with her tomorrow.
