Growing up.
It’s two words,
three syllables,
and part
of who
all of us are.

We all will grow up.
To whoever
we want to be,
or doing
whatever we want
to do.

The fact is,
that we all grow up.
We face hardships.
We learn about the things
that we have,
the things we want,
and the things
that we know
will never be ours.

We are still young,
yet we still think
that we know it all.
We will like people,
and trust people.
Then one day
all that trust
just might be gone.

That’s when
you get up,
brush it off,
and move on.

Sure,
you’ll be mad at first,
but,
you can’t hold a grudge
forever.

You’ll find out
who your friends
really are.
Some may stay forever,
some may just be a bump
you come across
in the road we call life.
This is who we are.

We have to take responsibility
for who we are,
and what we do.

We all
can’t just stand by
and wait
for the past
to catch up with us.

We have to look
towards the future.

Many of us
will probably
grow apart in high school.
Then after,
we’ll all go
our separate ways.

Some may stick,
but,
there’s still
no guarantees.

This is who
we are.
You just have
to look forward
to who
we all
become.

I was really upset when I wrote this, but it helped me realize that life has a purpose, and we all have a reason for living the lives we are given to live.
