One Big Dose

The wind whispers in my ear,
telling me secrets of the earth.
I strain my focus and want to hear
for the path of my life's rebirth.
New challenges, new feelings, and love;
reaching, striving, wanting, and succeeding.
I climb life’s mountains and come out above,
for I am strong. I am human. I am leading.
Future generations will follow and listen close,
because everyone takes this drug we call life for one big dose.
