So This Is Home
So this is Kalispell,
The peaceful wind tickling the trees filling them with laughter and making them tussle and rustle their branches.
So this Kalispell,
Nothing like Nebraska,
With monstrous mountains and icy peaks of dirt brown, pitch black, dull gray, glittering white and envious green.
So this is Kalispell,
The place of the wondrous colors and lively people,
The place of towering glaciers that cry baby blue rivers of instant death,
The place of friendly, but careful people,
The place of healthy, always moving, lets go hiking, no how about kayaking, kind of people.
So this is Kalispell
The place raging in fear of their cattle’s lives to meet their end with viscous wolves, drooling grizzles, and the flames that dance amongst the trees.
So this is home
The place of beauty,
The place that brought me comfort,
But kept me alive with fear and excitement,
The place where when things go wrong, there’s always a lesson waiting in the trees.
So this is Kalispell
The place that taught me to stay strong with life gets rough,
This is my home.
