Not Another Love Poem
Words, like salt at the bottom of
A pretzel bag
Shifting lazily over slick plastic
Lips
Sliding and stinging and burning
Holes in my non-plastic heart
You make me feel
Emotions that carve your name into
My flesh
And I hate you
I hate you for your smile
I hate you for that easy laugh
And most of all, I hate you for
The salty drops leaking from these
Eyes
Searing tracks through
Perfect powder
