Cinderella - Remix
Daddy and I alone
Hard work seeps down to the bone.
No money to spare
But love still fills the air
Soon a wealthy step-mom found
She and her daughter mean as a rabid hound
Losing myself in books of a fictional land
Little did I know that fun would soon be banned
For father got ill
I tired to sit still
As his spirit went away
Now step-mom is here to stay
Grieving got cut short
For Spoiled step-mom and her clone don’t hold the fort
So chores and work I now constantly do
No help allowed according to you-know-who
But soon the town fills with buzz
Dance preparations is the because
Rumors of a prince came to tell
All the girls wishing their appearance well
My head like the rest filling with dreams
I sure hope he wont think my imagination to extreme
Excitement fills me and I ask to go
But of course step-mom says no
Snobby and Snooty all powdered and prepped go to leave
Leaving me here to sulk all eve
However reading my book I did try
And from the pages a Glinda did fly
Now a watchful fairy I had indeed
Her advice she said I would need
Through her magic she gave me a sparkling new gown
And said not to let others bring you down
And with that I now hurried along
Hoping to arrive before the last song
When I entered all eyes now focused on me
Everyone probably wondering who I could be
Then he and I caught each others gaze
The world became lost in a haze
He swept me out to that floor
I now knew the prince was something more
No more step-mom, no more chores
For following my dreams opened up many doors
And now I know that happy endings can come true
Not just for me but for all who want them to
