&ldquo; When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.&rdquo;<br /> -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Catching tunes from Dylan now
It's hard to think that we
Had started without seeing how
We could never be

It seems like when you search for love
You try to catch the winds
Yet, as we drift about the skies
We find those special friends

Now clocks bring me to memories
Of those who came and passed
It's funny how we feel these things
Although they seldom last

Right out the door, is all the world
Within it, only me
The trees are shimmering with light
That helps us all to see

I guess I know we must move on
And slowly drift apart
But relationships that never were
Never leave my heart

The author's comments:
My inspiration for this poem came through the songs I happened to be listening to at the time.

Somehow, they led me to contemplate the counterintuitive dynamics of love and the act of finding love. It's about trying to let go of that desire to "seek out love" while still treasuring every romantic experience you live out.
