For You
You there, with the tears in your eyes,
You have been beaten, bruised, and broken
You have scars on your skin, and scars on your heart
They tell the stories of your struggles,
Of the battles you have fought
The ones you lost, yet survived
That is what you are my friend,
A Survivor.
You are used and abused
But you find the strength to carry on
You spirit, like titanium,
Is strong and nearly impossible to break
You may falter in despair
For you know life is not fair
But you are the phoenix of this story
You rise from the ashes,
Even though you may be damaged
You are resilient, and you rise again
That makes all the difference.
