The echo of laughter on cool metal
Shoes slapping warm concrete;
A chain squeals as it swings
A light breeze rustles the grass
Creating a murmuring rustle overhead
A dog barks, its voice sharp (cutting through the friendly pandemonium)
A parent scolds, voice raised
A scraped knee emits a pained cry
A gentle kiss and hug
And pain is amiss, gone away
White clouds swirl lazily
Overhead the sun beats
Golden rays kiss reddened faces
Strollers roll in front of impatient feet
As the sun begins its decent?
Sticky hands meet holding hands
Cars are loaded up
And pull away
And as I stand to walk away
I think of what I saw today
