The Savior of Volleyball
Different colored jersey
Different job
Too short to hit
Too short to block
Back row is her home
Hitting is out of the question
She prefers diving and saving.
Bruises, floor burns, and bloody noses is what she’s used to
Quick feet and getting low is what she is made for
Trusted by the front row to do what she is told
A perfect pass never quite gets old
Crunched low, close to the ground,
Waiting for that spike that she won’t let touch the court
Sending all those hitters out the door
With their heads hanging and in a bad mood
Nothing can get past this libero without a fight
The thrill of a dive and save
Feeling of accomplishment
That is what keeps her feet moving
Being a libero is being the savior of volleyball
