Align yourselves with merry men
Pretend you share their merriment
Yet hollow hearts don't smile like theirs
'Tis but Hectors dying battle cry
That moves to tears all beating hearts

Out of verse and out of line
No punctuation or impressive rhyme
It takes a cloudy sky to know
Quite the value of the summer rays
Yet sometimes winter air does breathe

Just as fresh as spring time's nights
So simple are these city's delights
The things that have remained untouched
By Stronger, Braver, Darker beasts
That loom and feast and feed off life

Penelope's tired of sewing thread
Just as she was tired of men and yet
to kiss such lips as his
Redeems all rage and recklessness
The shelter seemed so very close

Speak soft Sirens echo the waves
Beating murmurs and crave
The timelessness of the Sea
Speak soft sweet serpents of the earth
Let us remember its spineless mirth.
