Ode to Tuff
O my horse Tuff
He's a real beauty
Though at times
He can be snooty.

I climb onto his back
His ears immediately prick
He knows we're going riding
All I have to do is kick.

Then we're galloping
Through a meadow of flowers
The wind in my hair
We ride for hours.

We return to the paddock
I turn him loose to eat
A thought goes through my head
"Riding is so sweet!"

I wish I could ride forever
It fills me with pride
I just can't explain it
No matter how much I've tried.

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this piece because of my love for horses; especially my horse Tuff. He is a 2-year-old buckskin gelding and he is stabled at my grandparents house. I love to ride him, I try to visit everyday!
