The Web
He was weaving, risking a fatal fall
So high up he can’t hear his senses call
But he wants more, blind to the facts
You just can’t fly with that kind of weight
The web starts with a strand, an outline
He’s working too hard on spinning a trap
He’s ignorant to his poor choice of position
Hasty decisions made on the run from his past infringement
He’s working out details, complete but unfinished
Advertising his web in the open door
Suspicious first customers solidify the false truth, no way to step down
Moving on overlooking the flaws, eager to go
The weakness he doesn't know, he’s living the lies
Closing his eyes to the wise who watch from afar
They wait
Curiosity fuels fools with a mind set to walk through and into his bluff
While he frantically repairs the small tears with more lies made on the run to the future
Time flies while he can’t, he’s got people to attend to
Overwhelming amounts of gullible provisions
He’s taken em’ for granted
But the door is swingin’ shut and he’s trapped in his own web
Captain must go down with his ship, and the lies
His final resting place on the soul of a men’s size eleven and a half
