Edge Of The River

Alarm clock a buzzin
Grab my gun
Load up my dog and boat
Look out to an early morning fog
Head for the rivers ramp
Arrive to the blind
Strap on my ole’ calls
Enter from the Behind
Let’s get it on
Flip on that Ro-Bo
Sun on the rise
Keep your eyes peeled
Ducks in the air
That’s my kind of high
Whenever they fly through
Even when they are far
I still blast a call
When they start to come in
The silence is broken
Once the ducks fall
The good ole’ dog
Never misses one

My name is Sam and I am submitting my free verse poem about duck hunting. My poem is a brief explanation of how the day of duck hunting is. I was dreaming of ducks in my writing class, while I was suffering from duck depression (killing no ducks during season).
