Don't Slip... It Hurts
I feel you slipping through my fingers, like a child clutching at smoke, and I hate it. You're pulling away so fast I'm losing all hope. Hope of a change. Hope of a love long forgotten. Finding deep within the bindings of life, the reason we once lived. Care free, dancing in the crunching leaves, amazed at the littlest things. Laughing in the baking sun, but now it seems those days are done. I try to hold you in my heart but you leave me standing in the dark. So here I stand, 5foot small, banging on these 4 walls, watching us fall. Into the chasm growing between us go all these memories of you and me. I don't want to waste those years so listen close that you may hear: "If you jump ill jump, just like old times."
