The Last Beat
Inside a bright blue cooler
Lying gracefully.
A red, cold heart
Beating lovingly.
Beating with great speed
As the clock tick and ticks
Waiting for a person
As hard as a brick.
While time passes by
Trying to hold on
Beating by minute
Until the strike of dawn.
Minutes turn to hours
Waiting for someone
The clock is running out
And it’s almost done
As it beats it’s final
Still no one in clear sight
Beating its last boom boom
Until it can’t fight.
