I Was Told Never
Flying through the air,
Feeling the wind whip across my face.
Never have I welcomed such a feeling,
Because I was always told never.
They told me I would never fly
They told me I would never drive
They told me I would never ski
They told me I would never climb
But now the day has come,
To prove those naysayers wrong
I close my eyes and squeeze them shut
Thinking of my life before.
There was I time when I had expectations.
They told me I would learn to fly
They told me I would learn to drive
They told me I would learn to ski
They told me I would learn to climb
But then everything changed,
And they all said never
But I just proved them wrong,
All with just one paraglide
A wheelchair can't stop me from my dreams,
It just makes reaching them all the better
