Souls
“So say the word and my soul shall be healed”
 It is never that easy
Perhaps my soul is wrecked beyond repair
 Blasted into smithereens long ago
Maybe it jumped head first out of my body
 Slipped right out suddenly
 Landed with a earsplitting CRASH
Was my soul fragile like my grandma’s best china that lays hidden away in the cupboard?
 Or shriveled and wasted
Like lungs that have puffed one too many ciggarettes?
 Maybe my soul is mutated
Like a Barbie doll left out in the sun too long
Or maybe, I was never granted a soul at all.
