Writer's Block

February 8, 2013
By Anonymous

It's like running full speed and then tripping- and landing flat on your face
Even now, I am stuck with nothing to say
There are no ideas forming into words to be typed onto this page
It's official, I have totally spaced

No inspiration to be found for miles around
Not in a book, not in a picture, and not in a song
It seems nothing will provoke inspiration to strike
It's like banging your head against the wall, all I want do is tell my journal to take a hike

Oh no
I will never write again
I can't do this
Why can't I be inspired?
This is the worst thing ever
I'm so done
Be right back throwing my journal out the window

It's like a house is half built and then a bulldozer comes and demolishes it
A poem will be almost finished, then there will be nothing left to say
So the poem will be left alone, abandoned by its writer
Like a dog on the side of the road, being left there by its owner

It's like a block materializing and just sitting on your hand
Refusing to budge, and refusing to allow you to write
Just letting you sit and stare blankly at that frustratingly empty page
Blocking all thoughts and ideas from your brain
Just letting them all go down the drain
