Growing Up
We always used to desire of growing up,
Striving to get old enough to do things the “big” kids do,
Now,
All we want to is go back to those days,
Relive every moment,
Like when the largest problem in our lives was someone stealing our crayons,
But in this day,
Society is out to get us,
This world revolves around the pressure to be perfect,
The pressure to do everything right,
The pressure to look right,
Talk right,
Everything has to be right.
People are turning into monsters,
The ones when we were little and thought were under our bed,
The ones we used to watch in movies and would be too frightened to fall asleep.
What happened to those times?
They’re all faded memories,
That we store in the back of our minds,
That pops up every so often to brighten our day.
