My eyes
cannot escape the light,
cannot escape the sight,
My eyes

dwell in places of dark,
relax when there's no spark,
My eyes

The author's comments:
This poem can be taken several ways. The two major themes are as follows. If you take it literally, then it seems as if I'm writing about my eyes that are physically sensitive to the light (and they are). Or metaphorically, it is about how most of humanity doesn't like being in the spotlight for too long, and how we appreciate our privacy.
