Beautiful and broken dreams
Pulling apart breaking at the seams
Strings tied to my wrists and feet
One out of a billion faces
Yet under your control stands only me
All that’s left is my lovely leave

The dreams I dreamt were once so pretty
But now I long for the chaos city
To waste myself in its streets
Until everyone has all but forgotten little me

It’s sad how I have twisted and changed
It’s alright my hairs begun to gray
As master time ticks along
We sit on the minute hand, claiming we are strong

I support who I support
And raise them above me
Giving you everything but in short
My image keeps tripping, to contort

Secrets twist and grow
In this secret masquerade show
The whispers shrink and shatter
Until everyone’s discussing which is fatter

When the tears drip off a face
They’re still smiling anyway
Singing all the songs, admitting all the wrongs
Trying to avoid the fact she has gotten away
With silence for far too long

The thing that inspired me to write this piece of poetry was a string of events that happened to me. I had lost quite a deal of friends and had a lot of, well, not friends, around me. What this poem is basically trying to depict is all the feelings high school shoves at you.
