Woods
I was travelling in the woods on a clear summer day during the mid-afternoon,
seeing what I could find.
I was walking along a beaten path
with no shoes on my feet,
when I saw a little pond.
I thought to myself,
"Maybe a little dip."
I sat on the ground
and placed my feet on the water's edge.
It felt so cool and natural,
I did not want the sensation to end.
And I looked out into the woods just as a faint breeze
blessed me with a soft touch.
And I thought to myself
"Maybe I should live in these woods."
But then I remembered I had promised my friend I would meet him at the park soon,
and so I removed my feet from the small pond
and began walking back.
