The Colored Comet
Roaring sparked the stadium,
Afternoon of America’s Pastime
Brooklyn, New York in 1949.
Flags wave in center field,
United as one they stand.
5 years ago, flags waved independent
White color filled the diamond,
Purity of white color in the game,
He who was denied of skin color.
He who changed the game forever.
He who changed sports forever.
The Colored Comet ran,
He who changed society.
A hero for generations.
