Light
As he stared into the glorious light
His anger roared just as loud
Just as bright
The heat radiated
His face burned from the hatred filled tears
Memories flooded faster than a hurricane
Strange men screamed
Water from the previous days
Swooshed and rushed around his feet
The coolness calmed him, but only for a moment
Stinging strange pieces cascaded
Around his now weak body
Why God?
He had no answers
All he could do was stand,
Stillness in a pit of chaos,
Grasping on to the old reality
And wait
For the firefighters’ redemption
