What is left behind?
Walking away
A shadow, my stalker
A weight on my back
Further and further away,
Is what I leave behind when I look back
No matter how far I walk
I can never fully leave
I don’t need help
I don’t need to be saved
Walking away is the only path
Everything old and worn
But to be reborn,
Reincarnation
Everything else is left behind
Success seemingly achieved
To walk forward, in different feet
Footsteps clicking a new rhythm
Convinced everything is forgotten
Until reminded
Waking screaming,
Sweating
From the memories
