Known To Me
Upon this hill my son is honored
By a marble monument
I know his body lay inside the walls
Guarded by those men
He laid his life down on the line
Yet no one knows his name
Truth be told he’s only known
By the men at heaven’s gates
Everyday he’s visited
By women, children, men
But none of them will ever know
What caused him to be dead
They’ll never know the things he did
Or the reasons why he did them
They’ll never know the day he died
Or people that will miss him
He deserves the tomb he’s buried in
Even if there is no name
Now he stands a symbol
For those others who remain
