Why would you let him do this?
I have seen the fire in your eyes slowly turn to ash.
Those brilliantly blue eyes turn gray.
How much longer will I have to keep your secret?
How much longer will I have to see you like this?
I love you.
He loves me. He really does.
I hear you say that every time I see new bruises.
Your once silky voice scratches my ears like sandpaper.
Once again I'll tell you this isn't love
and once again I'll hear you whisper
It was my fault. I deserved it.
You don't deserve this,
you don't deserve the black eyes and swollen jaw.
I see through your mask,
you’re done with this.
I just want to scream and tell you to open your eyes,
but you can't...
Literally.
I love you...
That's all I can say now.
Your rosy cheeks now pale.
Can you hear me?
I know you're in Heaven so I'll say it again.
I Love You.

I wrote this poem after my teacher read one like this to the class. I hope that after reading this someone will report the abuse and try to stop it.
