and the Hunter

At dawn

At dawn

I hunt

I hunt
to survive


for fun

I choose

I choose
the sickest one


the biggest one
the easiest one
to catch


the best one


to hang on my wall

I stalk

I stalk
my prey

my prey

I wait for
I wait for
the perfect
the perfect
moment


shot

and then

and then
I pounce


I shoot
I fall


I claim my prize
as my prize
runs away
as I wish I could
