As the youth of the world falls victim to their ambitions,
the air is polluted with thoughts that besmirch the soul and clouds the better judgment of the mind.
Men rise up on the backs of others, like stepping stones,
committing sins to gain their higher ranks.
As their actions lay siege to the land,
our souls are slaves to their unholy demands,
some will try to justify and say that they kill on gods command.
Free will is decomposing, as it slips right through our grasp.
Our morals, like lambs, are led to the slaughter; society
has become numb to the cries of the destitute.
Ignoring the problem of the deteriorating world at hand,
we've fallen victim to the plague that has stricken this land.
And as we send our children off to war,
hell awaits them in the chamber of every loaded gun.
A fate that even the purest of hearts cannot escape
These Innocent hearts corrupted, Blackened with hate
as they fight for a cause that has long since been lost,
a cause that was never theirs to fight.
Every bullet that pierces the innocent
tears a greater divide in our humanity, separating
us from what is left of our sanity.
Decades pass as the state of our world
plummets into darker peril,
a world in constant chaos
as we watch it burn,
playing Russian roulette with our children’s futures.
Worsening with every second, every breath we take,
the noose is tightening around our necks as we struggle to stay alive.
For if we slip from the pedestals we have built,
the suffocation is inescapable.
We believe that man was born to die
and dies to live.
A contradiction at best,
When men today only live for themselves
Not for their fellow men and nor for a savior
Yet salvation is but a pray away,
And the life we live, the deeds we’ve done,
effect us in the hereafter.
An idea that torments the wickedest of men,
for how can we dig ourselves out of the hole in which we lay?
What will it take to gain redemption of the soul?
