If you let me in
To the real you
The part of you that was shadowed
The part of you that was shy
I would find it to be beautiful

If you tilted your head back and laughed with abandon
If the world was your comedy
Bright and whimsical
And your grin was constant
I would find you to be young

If you told me you were broken
And you really meant it
That you hurt others and yourself
If you confessed to envy, hate, lust, and murder
I would find you to be wonderful

If you professed that you were in love
That she is your every thought
That you want to go shouting couplets
And whispering love songs
I would find her to be lucky

If you sighed and you were tired
Ready to move from here
Craving laughter and joy
If you were weary from the load
I would find you to be glorious

If you shouted you’re furious
That the world is a cruel, cruel place
That you are angry for no reason
Or with every reason
I would find you to be good

If you whispered that you are afraid
And your dreams were diminished by doubt
That you might loss it all
That you may cry
I would find you to be strong

If you cheered with elation
The obstacles overcome
And every hope fulfilled
If world was on your side
I would find them to be right

If your world fell to pieces
Every part of life in wreckage
Shattered and left alone
And the blame only on you
I would find you to be precious

And if I reveled my heart
Shaking and terrified
If it was little broken
But honest and true
You would find it be yours

The author's comments:
I was inspired by unconditional love. Love that is crazy merciful. The type of love that remains regardless of actions. I believe I am loved in this way by God, it is the truth of Christianity. This poem is about having that type of love with another person.
