The rain is falling hard
The rain is falling hard as I stare out my kitchen window wondering what will happen next.
Something good, something bad, no one knows.
Just follow that shining path of where you are supposed to be.
Let your future be bright and take advantage of all the opportunities.
The jobs you can do.
The friendships you can make.
The education you can have.
And the family you can become close with.
Don't focus on the past but worry about the present and what will happen next.
Don't worry about the fights you have had,
Or even about the people you have hurt.
Remember the best memories any human being could ever have.
That roller-coaster ride you could never get off.
That person you met at the park and played catch with.
That afternoon lunch you had with your mother at Corner Bakery.
And that one moment you realized who you really were.
Ignore the people who bring you down.
Because without them you are you and only you.
And not one person could take that away.
