Love like Seasons
You appeared like the breeze, that dew covered morning,
You smiled at me, sowing the seeds of a bright future.
A wealth of emotions paving your life into mine,
A gentle love blossoming, rising to meet the radiant sunlight.
Had I ever seen a brighter day?
The cloudless skies, ever expanding like that glowing feeling.
A growing passion, burning free like fire
You made my heart shine, and I yours.
Days passing, slowly getting warmer.
But it’s as if I never noticed the nights getting colder.
Our feelings swept away by the chilly winds,
We change like the leaves upon a tree,
One of the same until lost in a spiral of gold and crimson.
Looking out into the coursing winds; I can only see what had been lost to time.
Our love unfamiliar like the blank untouched landscape.
The dry air cuts through me with our last words.
Our eyes speak for ages, the comforting light fading.
Turning away from each other with frost on our lips, I feel the cold seeping into my heart.
Seeing your silhouette fade away into the white,
Staring longingly where your hand once lay,
I can only hope, that your winter won’t be as cold as mine.
