Longing

Longing,
Physical pain,
Tension in your stomach,
At your back, your throat.
The feeling,
That you can't live without some change,
Without,
Whatever it is,
You long for.
Pain behind the eyes,
Sweet, acrid scent,
Anxiety,
Fear.
A headache.
You can't think,
So,
You stop.
Give up.
Move on.
But the longing
Never
Actually leaves.
It's just repressed, hidden
Behind another activity,
Distraction from
The pain of
Your own emotion.
Longing.
