Shadows
Walking in a dying world
Roaming the streets alone
Wishing that I had been different
Knowing I had to change
Believing in all of the lies
The ones that tear me down
I am a broken person
Unable to be fixed
Unable to change
Barely holding on
Away from the life I’m living
Away from the pain
And away from the fears
I try so hard to hide
Behind a mask made of stone
A disguise made of thorns
I try so hard to hide myself
Underneath another person
I don’t know who I am anymore
I don’t know what’s in the mirror
I don’t want to know
I like to hide
Even though I’m only a shadow
I know that I’ll never find a home.
