On the Outside Looking In
If you were to see what I’ve seen
And go where I’ve been
You still wouldn’t understand
The pain that I’m in.
Even if reality
Slapped you in the face
You wouldn’t know what it’s like
To feel so out of place
It’s like my eyes are a window
And my soul is a door
But only I hold the key
To what is inside
People can laugh
And mock me if they will
But I don’t hear them
I only see them
My spirit is gone
Only my body remains
The past, present, future
The snow, sun and rain
Nothing affects me
I’m a lifeless, dead soul
But I’m trapped in this world
That’s so full of hate
Looking for someone
To love me as I am
But until that day comes
I’m all alone
I’m on the outside looking in
And all I can see
Is that you are still gone
And I need you with me
