You’ve told me to my face
It was drugs over me
You brainwashed my little sister
But I know what you’ll always be

Today you tell me that you’re clean
You give me so much hope
Then I turn around the next day
And you’re back on the same ole dope

You wrote me letters from prison
In that dirty little cell
And of course while you were there
I was in my own personal hell

This comes from my heart
Everything I say is true
It’s time to face up to your mistakes
I am through with you

Thank you for showing me how important
A good mother should be
That way I’ll never show my children
The pain that you showed me

This poem was written about my mother who has caused me so much pain over my life. I am hoping that people with family problems will read this and see they are not alone and see that they can get through it.
