Between Us
It all started
when we hung out
and she looked in my eyes.
then you wondered,
why she started bulls***ting
with lies.
I think back to that night
and it pains me deep inside.
I’m constantly remembering
your fighting
and your cries.
I guess this is my way of saying,
I APOLOGIZE.
Just the other day
I saw you walking,
holding hands.
That’s when I came across
a conflict
with my inner man.
Should I come up and talk to you
or simply just say hi?
Or continue on my way
and remain
a passerby;
a witness to the love and fun
that you two have together.
If there’s anything I’ve learned
since then:
The more distant, the better.
Let’s forget what happened
between us
but I’ll
never forget her.
