Missing Piece

Missing him while he’s with me
He’s gone, but he’s still here.
I feel empty
I want him to have that piece,
The one that completes me.
I want him to be the reason,
The reason I’m not missing a part of me.
He completes me.
I am not whole,
He has the missing piece
Holding it against me.
Holding it hostage
He knows.
But when he tries to give it back,
I don’t want it.
