seasons of life

The turkey and the feast
Take away a child’s fear of a beast.
Warm perfume of pumpkin pie
Scary children dressed up at night.

Bare trees and the white ground
Wrapping paper being spun around.
Songs of joy and glee
Spread a warmness starting in our feet.

The music flies high
As we look up with curious eyes.
Flowers spread their petals
As we see the animals start to settle.

The sun warms a face
As we hug all our loved ones in a sweet embrace.
The clocks don’t ring
And coldness of the morning no longer stings.

The years go on and on
Until the ice skating rink is a pond.
Time brings love and hate
But doesn’t seal our fate.

Somewhere they don’t know of snow
And don’t need to drink hot cocoa.
But somewhere they don’t know of heat
And walking barefoot on the beach.

People miss what the world brings
And fall to the beat of their own king.
So they make the seasons in their dreams
And look up into the sun’s beams.

"Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn" The song Below my Feet by Mumford and Sons

I really liked this poem! It seriously gave me goose bumps. :)  My favorite part was the end. It made me think!
