Imagine, living life to the fullest,
without a care or worry in the world.
Making the most of each day,
using the sun to guide your way.
Now imagine, out of the blue,
a new emotion taking control of you.
Against your will, you’re pulled into this ordeal.
You have no say as this unknown emotion eats your insides away.
It’s an uncontrollable occurrence,
it causes you to seek reassurance,
of who you are, because you don’t feel like that star
that people believe you are.
It takes a handle of your body and soul,
it makes you feel as if you’re four years old.
But, deep down inside you know you still have that pride,
but every time it is time for it to show,
this unknown emotion comes and steals it,
like a thief in the night, putting up a vicious fight.
This emotion has almost taken control of your entire life,
but your persevering ambition has other things planned
for the road ahead.
So now this unknown emotion has died,
and it seems as if you have restored your pride.
Just like before, now that this emotion has gone out the door,
You can go back to making the most of each day
and hoping that this time, this is the way things will stay.

Everyday teens are faced with many problems. To go along with those problems are an array of emotions that overtake our bodies. This poem describes the way that teens feel when an emotion takes over. Many times this emotion is unknown, which is where the title came from.
