A Boy

There was a boy
A little boy
A boy.
All alone
He stood
On the road
In his pajamas.
His hair
Matted and grey.
His face
Dirty and tear-streaked.
His hands
Raw and frostbitten.
His eyes
Cloudy and forgotten.
His mouth
Cracked and dry.
And yet
No one
Not anyone
Would stop
To help
This boy
Who stood
All alone
On the road
In his pajamas.
