Brown boots on cobble stones,
pull fur coat close, keep me from cold,
there's something that needs to be told.
Hidden deep down and very old
maybe no one shall ever know.
Houses harbor secrets, secrets much deeper,
shadows dance on thin walls,
voice so loud ringing down the hall.
Streets outside filled with sad sighs,
walking now to sever ties.
How time seems to fly,
in the trunk in your room
found some yellow pages with some old I love yous.
Know things, things you won't want me to,
what will burning rings in fire really do?
Go past the doctors shop
shinny black bottles on the counter top.
Maybe one would heal ancient
wounds concealed.
Sometimes at night think it's alright
then something lights the spark.
Everything suddenly, has gone dark.
Slip a note here and there
tell me not to despair.
Everything happens for
reasons unseen, what happens
shapes my character and
is meant to be.
