Uncomplicated
The music is just music.
dozens of, hundreds of notes
woven together intricately,
beautifully,
but still nothing more.
The music is just a feeling
but it's every feeling
I've ever had,
or lost,
or never wanted.
Perhaps it could be a friend.
That is why I cling to my earbuds so desperately in the dark
as if they can offer me true comfort
or wrap their arms around me.
Somewhere in my heart, I know they can't.
A song is just a song.
Dozens of, hundreds of words.
woven together intrciately,
meaningfully,
but still, nothing more.
It can't help,
but it won't hurt.
For tonight, that's good enough.
