Absolutely Nothing
“And he called it ‘Absolutely Nothing’
Because that’s what it was really all about”
Nothing.
You could say it had no meaning;
You could say it meant a lot.
No one ever read it so
how would anyone ever know?
I think that’s
what he felt.
Nothing.
Like a giant wave
pulling you under
for just a little too long
And you start
to feel numb.
Nothing.
Maybe one day
he woke up like that—
nothing.
Just another damned day
of nothing.
And that’s all he felt:
Absolutely nothing.
